Getting Intentional With Your Money
4 Tips to Financial Freedom
IT ME
Welcome to WTF - What the Finance
Where we ask WTF…
Hey there! My name is Uneesa, and if I had to give myself a Forbes 2-page spread, the headline would read “I love God, women and money.”
Why? Well, other than loving God, women and money - I want to help as many women as possible take financial control.
Join me, as I’ll be holding your hand through the bold, new world that is finance - and helping to demystify finance by asking WTF is this?
LET’S GET INTENTIONAL…
In the UK, the average 25 year old woman will be 100k poorer than a 20 year old man.
and that’s due to the pension gap, as researched by Scottish Widows (2023).

Me presenting some cool stuff
Last week, I was blessed with the opportunity to speak and meet with so many of you at Hulm Club in London, for its first sisters-only event! Tickets SOLD OUT in 5 hours (no biggie…) which just goes to show the importance and need for financial literacy amongst women!
For those of you who may have missed it, here’s a roundup:
Build an honest money relationship today:
Print out 6 months worth of bank statements (or if you’re using a neobank, you should already be able to analyse your expenditure) and start bucketing where you’re spending money. Ask yourself what is the purpose behind each expense - how is it adding value to your life? Rather than simply making cutbacks, also look at how you can generate income too - passively or otherwise.
Start building the life you want by understanding what you’re spending your money on and why.
Set Good Intentions & Write Them Down:
When you set any financial goal ask yourself – Why am I doing this? Who’s this for? How can I become a better Muslim through this goal? Jot down your thoughts and reflect on them often in du’a.
Always Ask Allah To Help With Your Goals:
Make your goals as spiritual quests. Ask Allah SWT to help you stay physically healthy, to fast regularly, to pray tahajjud, etc. You need Him. Ask Him.
Work Hard:
Girl, you’re gonna have to put your back into it and tie that camel real tight! Let Allah SWT take care of the results.
Bar Allah SWT, consistency, honesty and set goals are key to achieving financial freedom.

Karl agrees
Indeed, those who spend their wealth [in Allah 's way] by night and by day, secretly and publicly - they will have their reward with their Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.
FINANCE TIP OF THE WEEK
"Consider setting up automatic savings deposits each month to reach your financial goals faster. Whether it's for an emergency fund, a down payment on a house, or investing, automating you/r savings makes it easier to stay on track and ensures that you don't forget to save. Plus, by making it automatic, you won't be as tempted to spend that money on unnecessary purchases."
IT’S GIVING…
SADAQAH OF THE WEEK
It may be post-Ramadan (not a vibe) but we can still make a difference. Here we’ll be spotlighting our Sadaqah of the week for you to consider donating to!
This week, we’ve picked Nawaal Fund…
The Nawaal Fund (NF) is a local charity in London that helps provide financial assistance, food, clothing, and other essentials to those who are struggling to make ends meet.
The NF are an excellent example of a smaller charity that plays a vital role in addressing the needs of the community's most vulnerable members. Local charities like the Nawaal Fund are crucial because they often have a deeper understanding of the specific needs and challenges facing the people they serve and can provide more personalized support to those in need. Their work is essential to creating a more equitable and caring society.
As we steadily continue our good deeds from Ramadan, please consider spending in the way of Allah and donating to Nawaal Fund.
THIS ONE’S FOR YOU…
We understand the importance of financial literacy - but not everyone does. That’s why we’re conducting the largest survey on the financial experiences of Muslim women in the UK.
We’re looking to gain 1,000+ respondents to make this study as reliable as possible.
The purpose behind it is to not only help build better products and services for Muslim women, but to gather an understanding of the unmet needs of Muslim women when it comes to finance.
The survey takes LITERALLY 2 MINUTES (we’ve timed it) and you’ll be doing the world a lot of good iA! Please share with your friends and family too! JzkA khair ❤️
