🗞️💁🏻‍♀️ WTF HAPPENED to the stock market THIS WEEK?

It’s been a pretty messy couple of weeks for the investment arena - largely bc big tech’s fall from grace has meant a massive claw back on recent IPOs. The likes of Instacart and Birkinstock haven’t performed exactly as well as hoped, but never fear Kimmy K’s SKIMS is set to IPO in 2024 as is the monstrosity that is Shein. Neocapitalism is well and truly alive.
US stocks have been climbing back up, spurred by Black Friday sales and of course, everyone’s fav economic driver: WAR!

So what are the updates?

Okay, so of you may or may not have seen me on the phenomenal Oversharers Podcast a few weeks ago. I had an amazing time on the pod (s/o Hodo + Kaltun, absolute huns!) where we got to dissect what buy now, pay later really is, the importance of knowing your islamic financial rights and how to kickstart your finance journey.

I just want to clarify: I’m not pro men or pro an alt-akh agenda (some saw a 5 second viral clip and really stretched their imagination to slander me). You don’t have to like what I say or how I dress - it really isn’t that deep lol.

I’m pro the pursuit of truth and fact. Our faith is one of balance and treading the middle path - that’s why it’s so important for everyone to know and understand their rights. I aim to work with women to help improve their understanding of finance, but ultimately everything starts and ends with Allah. That’s why I do what I do - to help women just like you recognise their ability to make better, more informed choices iA.

• Sam Altman has joined the tech elite in (think Steve Jobs, Jack Dorsey) in getting fired and rehired from OpenAI. The tech coup, which only lasted 5 days, took place bc the AI mogul "hadn't been consistently candid in his communications with the board" That’s tech talk for ‘you’re doing too much hun, and we’re entering dangerous territory.”

• Tesla sues Sweden as strikes target carmaker - Elon’s got a lot going on rn…

• Saudi’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has agreed to buy a 10% stake in London Heathrow. The gulf’s continued soft power position extends cultural phenomena like football, as KSA looks to expand its investment portfolio.

• Robinhood is back in the news

• As mentioned earlier, Skims and Shein both look to IPO in 2024, cementing Kim’s billionaire status and Shein’s global domination of fast fashion.
